San Francisco

San Francisco - the name says it all!  No need for catchy title.  To me, it's like New York City....the city's name says it's a unique & multi-faceted city.

The first thing we did was have Paul drive down Lombard Street with it's 8 hairpin curves and flowered curbs in a one-block section.

Then went up Telegraph Hill by the Coit Tower, it was still quite foggy and overcast so none of the photos are worth showing.

On to cable cars.  The last time I was in San Francisco (33 years ago) the cable cars were not running and it's been on Bucket List ...longer than Bucket Lists have been in existence.

All ready to go!

Meeting another cable car.

At the end of the first run, the sun came out and we had to get into line to make our return trip. Seemed like a good excuse to have a hot soft pretzel.

Here's the cable cars being manually turned around

Here's the view as we made the return trip up and down to the bay.  Alcatraz in the distance.

Of course San Francisco has lots & lots of residences with bay windows.  Here's a couple examples...

Even new residences are built with bay windows.

And some unique building features.

And of course the most famous of all residences in SF...the Painted Ladies.  Classic shot!
