Falls

Today we left Wisconsin and our hosts for the past week, Rick & Romey in their garden and in front of her garden "lady cave."

Drove through Minnesota...the land of 10,000 Lakes and 1 million acres of corn!  Thankfully, for the farmers, the crops look great.

Recently, on facebook I saw a article about Pipestone National Historic site.  Since we were driving through there, we stopped.  It's the only quarry in the world that contains the stone that the Natives use to make their ceremonial pipes.  They still have the only rights to mine the quarry for their pipes.  Here's a photo of how the stone looks unfinished, finished and then carved.

There was a nice 3/4 mile trail around the grounds with lots of native prairie flowers.   The rocks were beautiful and the Pipestone Creek flowed through the grounds and created beautiful waterfall.

Then we continued on to Sioux Falls to visit our Winter Texan neighbors, Don & Betty.

Enjoyed seeing the Sioux Falls again.

Tomorrow, we head west towards Rapid City and more adventures.
