"Four more years! Four more years!" So goes the political chant in the re-election years. This year of course we don't hear that chant in the political arena.
Guess what? It's my new motto now. I just bought a new car and it's car payments again for four more years. It's committing to work for four more years to make those car payments. Hubby says I should get personalized license plates that read "4 MO YRS." He's quite clever, right?
Some people would say that his "cleverness" has more to do with getting me to agree to work four more years, while he's retired and golfing. Regardless, I'm OK with working, it keeps me out of trouble at home or in my community. Besides, I think I'd be down right bored with nothing to do and no money to do "it" with! So let's get on with it! Only 1040 work days left to go! Oh yes, I did get my Glacier Blue Honda CRV with a moon roof and I feel like a queen driving it! Just can't wait to get to work tomorrow! :)

Dear Rayna - I'm just getting caught up -congrats on your new car!! have fun, I know u will! As for your writing on the old people and how you feel old, you are looking at this wrong or in a gray, filtered light. YOU ARE the young one!!! They are all older than you, including Paul, but maybe you can take a lesson from all those snowbirds who flee to the south. They are doing things, going places and not stuck up here in a snowbank with -0 windchills with the 50+ year olds who do not go out at night and only during the day when we have to!!
Valentine's night (actually 6:00 P.M.!!) R & I went to eat at the Kozy Kitchen. The place was almost full when we got there. We recognized most of the couples there and I whispered to Rick, "don't you feel lucky, we are the youngest ones here!!" He laughed but realized we were out with the old folks!! So we both felt young for an hour until we went out into the cold, and he pulled the truck around to the entry door so I wouldn't slip and fall on the ice!! How romantic!! Hope you enjoy my "blog" as i enjoy you!!! love ya, Romey
Congrats on your new car Rayna.
Let's talk "old". When I am with older people, I feel closer to my age. When I am with younger people I feel younger. Age is relative. I learn from older people as well as younger ones. It is a matter of taking the time to listen to them. Almost all people have something of interest to say. To some the subject is only interesting to them however. I do get tired of listening to people who only speak in first person and especially ones who talk mostly about their ailments and how important they are, etc.
Regardless of what are taboo subjects, I do like to discuss(not argue) subjects such as race, religion and politics. But only with some people. These subjects are no more volitable to discuss than our own politics and neighbors here. Just different
in scope and geography.
Well I don't know what prompted all of this. See you soon.
Mavis
